What is Interventional Radiology?

Interventional Radiology (IR) is a medical specialty that uses advanced imaging techniques, such as ultrasound, CT, and X-ray guidance, to perform minimally invasive procedures with exceptional precision.

By accessing the body through tiny incisions rather than traditional surgery, Interventional Radiology enables specialists to guide catheters, wires, and needles to targeted areas while minimising disruption to surrounding tissues. This approach often results in less pain, reduced scarring, faster recovery times, and shorter hospital or clinic stays.

Interventional Radiology is used to diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions, including vascular disease, cancer, and other complex medical disorders. Combining cutting-edge technology with expert clinical care, IR offers effective treatment options with improved patient comfort and excellent clinical outcomes.
